Hotel Hints

Use that in-room kitchenette to save huge dollars – be sure to do a big grocery shop at Trader Joe's or Smith's your first day. Cooking your breakfast and some dinners can be a huge money-saver over eating out for every meal. That's one of the big advantages of staying in an extended-stay hotel.

Immerse yourself in New Mexico’s unique culture with a day trip to Historic Old Town. It’s only a 15-minute drive from the hotel. Park your car and spend the day wandering through beautiful adobe architecture, the historic San Felipe de Neri Church, and dozens of shops and galleries where you can buy the real thing-t’ authentic Native American and Southwestern art and jewelry. That’s against the modern commercial vibe of the Uptown area.

Redefine your nature experience with a ride on the Sandia Peak Tramway. It’s not even a half an hour drive to the base of the tram from the hotel. Glide up to the 10,378-foot summit of the Sandia Mountains for jaw-dropping panoramic views of the city and vast landscape below. Best advice would be to go up there late afternoon for an awesome view of the sun setting, and watch the city lights start twinkling below.

And if you do not want to go far just to have a taste of the local flavors, you can visit Green Jeans Farmery— a unique food hall made from shipping containers just a short drive from the hotel. I Local food vendors populate its stalls, along with the Santa Fe Brewing Company taproom. That’s a good launching pad ‘to sample some local craft beer and have a fantastic yet inexpensive meal in a bopping, trendy atmosphere that locals really love.
